P.S.A. Nordic Safety Alert for Silverstar snopark

All users @ the SilverStar Sno park including X country skiers are required by LAW to have a SNO-PARK permit now. You will be skiing in AVALANCHE terrain once you cross the bridge . You should have a partner ,be educated in rescue and carrying a shovel ,probe , and transciever and are personally responsible for yourself and your pets behavior. The saftey net is thin as this is not avy. controlled terain. Check the N.W.A.C website before heading out. This is no longer the free lunch it used to be thanks to all of the proponents of the Sno- park. Information on safety etc . is posted on the new KIOSK by the bathroom. There will be a transiever check located across the bridge soon . Please do YOUR part .Dont be a freebooter. Be socially responsible and purchase your pass as it helps defray the cost of grooming for all user groups. I imagine the ticket is expensive for not complying.
PLEASE , be an ASSET out in the backcountry and not a LIABILITY. As always , stay on the side of the road , as the snow machines travel on the highway right of way , wave ,smile and be thank full your not breaking the trail yourself ! If your in trouble or need help , wave down a sled driver as they are the most help full group of individuals out there and have rescued many over the last 50 years on the hwy. corridor . I have just been reminded that the DOT has a sign posted to not park in the snow plow turn around or block the gate , as it may be necessary to get emergency vehicles through if needed. There were many skier cars in the way yesterday and few sno-park passes visible up there ) :
