I am poem #2

I am an inanimate toaster in a disused dump
I wonder if I will ever see the sun
I hear the seagulls squawking
I see a diaper and a smelly banana peel
I want to be in a kitchen in a new chassis
I am an inanimate toaster in a disused dump

I pretend someone will want me
I feel left and unwanted like my neighbor the pipe wrench
I touch a rotten blob of cottage cheese
I worry about nasty trash compactors
I cry when the spoiled milk lets one rip
I am an inanimate toaster in a disused dump

I understand nothing (I’m a toaster you idiot)
I say nothing (Again idiot)
I dream nothing (I don’t sleep you persistent idiot)
I try to not answer these stupid questions
I hope? What foolish question is that! This is stupid because
I AM AN INANIMATE TOASTER IN A DISUSED DUMP!
[Stupid seagull reporters]
