VoIP FAQs
What is VoIP?
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. It allows you to make phone calls over your internet connection instead of using traditional phone lines.
Can I keep my current phone number?
Yes! In most cases, we can port your existing number over to our VoIP service. Just let us know you'd like to keep it when signing up.
What equipment do I need?
You will need to purchase the necessary VoIP hardware through us, such as a VoIP wireless handset and base station. These connect directly to your router.
Does VoIP work during a power outage?
VoIP relies on your internet connection and power supply. We recommend a battery backup (UPS) for your internet equipment to maintain phone service during brief outages.
Is 911 supported?
Yes. Our VoIP service supports Enhanced 911 (E911), which provides your address to emergency responders. Make sure to keep your address information up to date with us.
How is call quality?
When paired with our fiber internet service, VoIP offers excellent call clarity and reliability. We prioritize voice traffic to ensure consistent quality.
