Wireless Internet FAQs

What is wireless internet service?

Wireless internet delivers broadband service using radio signals between a wireless access point and a receiver at your location without the need for underground cables.

What does a typical installation look like?

A receiver is installed on your home or property. The receiver is typically mounted on the exterior of your home and communicates with a nearby access point to provide internet service. The receiver is wired to the primary router inside the home.

How can I get service to reach throughout my house, garage, or secondary location?

You can extend service within your property using wired ethernet connections or mesh Wi-Fi systems. Our technicians can advise you on the best solution based on your needs.

What is the difference between a wired and wireless network?

A wired network uses cables (like Ethernet) to connect devices to the primary router, while a wireless network uses Wi-Fi to send data without cables.

What equipment is needed for a wireless installation?

Wireless internet service requires the purchase of a radio receiver and a primary router. We do not allow user-provided routers in front of the primary router.

Will I have TV, and can I stream movies?
